About Sandwell

The name of Sandwell comes from the medieval Sandwell Priory in Sandwell Valley, West Bromwich, where there is evidence of habitation dating back to the Stone Age. The Sandwell area is situated in the industrial heartland of the UK, boasting exceptional transport links to the rest of the country. It is home to proud communities across its six towns of Oldbury, Rowley Regis, Smethwick, Tipton, Wednesbury and West Bromwich.
